Mark Siderits presented "Buddhist Reductionism and Karmic Desert" in an invited symposium on Ethics, Moral Psychology, and Buddhism at this year's Pacific Division meeting of the APA in March.
Thomas Simon's new book, The Laws of Genocide: Prescriptions for a Just World with Greenwood Press (Praeger Security International) was recently published. This completes his trilogy on the treatment of minorities and vulnerable groups.
Kent Machina, Philosophy Professor Emeritus, and Anu Gokhale from the Department of Technology have been awarded a $1/2 million NSF grant to continue their work on encouraging more women and minorities to study mathematics, science and technology in college. Their previous work under a separate NSF grant produced some fascinating and somewhat disturbing results.
